From Hong Kong with cash – BNOs buy up London homes

Hong Kong residents are buying up property in London at more than double the rate of previous years.

Sales to Hongkongers in Q1 of 2021have risen by 144% since the prime minister announced a new path to British citizenship for British national overseas passport holders.

Residents of the former colony now account for 4% of home sales in London, up from 1% in the same period in the previous year.

The properties include 270 in prime central areas and 1,932 across London, according to the estate agency Benham and Reeves.
