FTSE 100 index enters bull market territory

The UK’s FTSE 100 index has entered bull market territory, rising more than 20% from the recent low hit in February.

The index ended Monday 1.4% higher at 6,682.86, extending gains after Andrea Leadsom withdrew from the race for the Conservative party leadership, leaving Theresa May as the successor to David Cameron.

Shares of homebuilders rebounded, with Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Developments up more than 7%.
