Tim Hurdiss, an associate with Fuller Peiser (FP), is joining Henry Boot Developments (HBD) to head up its new office in Birmingham.
The developer’s decision to open an office in the midlands follows moves by Kyle Stewart and Miller Developments, which have both opened offices in the city over the last 12 months.
Hurdiss’ decision to leave FP also follows the departure of the firm’s head of industrial agency, Richard Meering, to Holley Blake where he is setting up a midlands office for the firm.
Ken Glenhill, managing director of HBD, confirmed to EGi that Hurdiss was joining the company but refused to comment further.
However, it is understood that HBD is keen to establish a permanent office in the city following the success of its Manchester office, which opened some 18 months ago. In Birmingham, HBD is working on the 7,989 sq m (86,000 sq ft) West Point office scheme at Paradise Circus and has plans for a retail scheme in Rugby.
Both HBD’s construction and housing arms are based in an office in Frederick Street. The company is believed to be looking at expanding the building to house its development arm.
