Fuller, Smith & Turner has issued a profit warning, blaming rail strikes for a £4m slump in sales.
The pub operator, which has more than 400 pubs chiefly in the South East and London, said sales over the festive period were 5% down on 2019. However, they were a 38% improvement on last year, when restrictions relating to the Omicron Covid variant stifled trade.
Fuller’s directly runs 208 pubs and inns and has a further 175 tenanted properties, with 44% of its sites located within the M25.
