The Bank of England and the Treasury have extended the Funding for Lending Scheme for a year, until January 26, 2016.
The scheme is intended to help small and medium-sized enterprises gain access to lending, and its extension will provide continued certainty over the availability of cheap funding during 2015, the Treasury said in a statement.
Further assistance is set to be announced in Chancellor George Osborne’s Autumn Statement.
