Furniture store chain Lee Longlands has submitted plans for a mixed-use tower on Broad Street, Birmingham’s prime leisure pitch.
The group wants to build a tower of between eight and 20-storeys above its existing 80-year old art deco head office and store at 224-226 Broad Street.
The planning application is for a scheme which will comprise either 174,000 sq ft of offices with 24,000 sq ft of shops and leisure space, a 310-bedroom hotel, or 338 student beds, depending on which wins consent from Birmingham planners.
The scheme has been designed by architects Glenn Howells and is out for public consultation until 7 April.
