Fusion Student has received planning approval for a 620-bed purpose-built student accommodation scheme located on Bristol Road, Birmingham.
The proposal approved by Birmingham City Council in a planning meeting yesterday will develop four interlinked blocks ranging from eight to 17-storeys.
Fusion’s approved proposal is located on a brownfield site that was previously occupied by The Trees bar, which fell vacant for many years before being demolished.
The development will include a range of flats such as cluster apartments, studios, social-studios with individual kitchen space as well as shared, studios, one-bed apartments, and ‘twodios’ – a flat with a shared kitchen but separate bedrooms and bathrooms.
The Corstorphine & Wright-designed plans also include student amenities such as an open plan social study space, an auditorium/cinema, a Karaoke TV room, a games room, a laundry, a lounge, and private dining rooms.
