FutureBrand has prelet 76-80 Southwark Street, London, SE1, Manhattan Loft Corporations (MLC) development at Bankside Central.
FutureBrand will pay £430 sq m (£40 sq ft) for the best offices at the 3,848 sq m (41,425 sq ft) self-contained building, which has secured a rental of around £1.5m pa. The building, which is arranged over lower ground, ground and five upper floors, is due for completion in October 2001.
MLC has similar projects under construction in Spitalfields, Whitefriars and Fulham, ranging in size from 1,115 sq m (12,000 sq ft) to 7,431 sq m (80,000 sq ft).
Chris Parry, of FutureBrand’s agent GVA Grimley, said: “The Jubilee Line has given SE1 a communication advantage over Clerkenwell and SE1 is now the leading location for frustrated City and West End media tenants. Manhattan Loft Corporation has created a building that makes a strong architectural statement, and this is one of the attributes that has attracted so much interest in the market.”
GVA Grimley will advise FutureBrand on the disposal of its existing Hammersmith, Soho and Clerkenwell offices. Thompson Yates represented MLC.
