GA Properties’ August sale of 35 repossessed homes sparked an enthusiastic response. Overall, more than £700,000 was raised with the disposal of three lots prior, 20 on the day and three lots post.
First-time buyers were much in evidence, with properties going for bargain-basement prices; the most spectacular being the sale of a one-bedroom flat in a listed building in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, for £30,000.
Other lots to attract interest included a long-leasehold, two-bedroom, ground-floor flat at 34 Hawks Road, Kingston upon Thames in Surrey, which went for £45,000.
The highest price of the day was achieved on a vacant bungalow in Egham, Surrey. The three-bedroom freehold property raised £65,000.
