Galliford to design and build Birmingham’s £113m Millennium Point

Building group Galliford has won a £60m contract with two partners to design and build a £113m millennium development project in Birmingham, it announced today.

Millennium Point will be built on a 12 acre brownfield site and will include an interactive technology museum, a technology centre and premises for an education centre for children aged 11 to 14.

Gallifords contract was won with its partners Christiani and Nielsen.

Work is due to start this month with completion due in September 2001.

The scheme includes 46,000 sq m of floor space with 750 parking spaces, landscaped gardens and a piazza.
