Garden Bridge excites complaints from St. Paul’s officials

Officials at St. Paul’s Cathedral have complained to Westminster Council that the proposed Thomas Heatherwick Garden Bridge over the Thames would spoil views of the cathedral’s dome.

Oliver Caroe, the cathedral’s Surveyor to the Fabric, told the council the project would have “irreversible impacts on some of the most iconic views of St Paul’s.”

The Garden Bridge Trust, however, maintains that existing views would be protected, and that the bridge would also provide new views and enhance others.
