SEGRO has agreed deals with two new tenants to let more than 100,000 sq ft at its Gatwick Cargo Centre.
Gatwick Airport is taking the 78,150 sq ft Unit 1 on a 10-year lease to use as a logistics base to store goods for the shops at the airport.
Cargo provider Dnata will also take 32,300 sq ft at Unit 5 as a cargo transit shed with offices to handle and store freight and mail to and from the airport.
Rents for the warehouses range between £12 and £15 per sq ft.
SEGRO business unit ?director Alan Holland said ?the facility had proven to be ?an “attractive facility” for airport-related businesses, owing to its self-contained units ?with direct airside access ?and landside forecourts.
“The centre is the main distribution hub for one of the UK’s principal and busiest airports, located at the heart of an important and dynamic economic region,” he added.
Deloitte Real Estate and FTD Johns acted for SEGRO; Lambert Smith Hampton advised Dnata; Gatwick Airport was unrepresented.
