Gaucho to open in Edinburgh

Argentinian steak restaurant Gaucho is opening at 3-5 St Andrews Square in Edinburgh later this year.

It has agreed a deal for a 6,512 sq ft space on a 20-year lease and taken the last remaining unit, bringing Standard Life Pooled Property Pension Fund and Peveril Securities’ scheme to full occupancy with five restaurants, one office and a department store.

The Ivy, Dishoom, The Refinery and Vapiano have also signed to the development.

David Stewart, fund manager, Aberdeen Standard Investments, said: “The line-up on the south side of the square is now complete. We have attracted a great mixture of chefs and restaurants to Scotland for the first time.”

Culverwell and Bruce Gillingham Pollard acted for Standard Life Pooled Property Pension Fund. Gaucho was represented by Insight Retail.
