GB Group is to build a five-storey Premier Inn on St Michael’s Way in Sunderland.
The hotel will have 125 rooms. An unnamed pension fund will forward fund the project, with the land acquired from the University of Sunderland.
The development has been designed by architect Faulkner Brown, with Mills & Reeve LLP acting as legal adviser to GB Group. It is due for completion by February 2015.
WSP Property Consultants acted for Premier Inn. GB Group was represented by Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels and Hospitality.
