General Projects and owner Northern & Midland Holdings have gained planning to transform a former gin distillery in central London.
The site, at 132 Goswell Road, Clerkenwell, is to be turned into an office hub for the creative industries.
Northern & Midland Holdings, a family-owned investment company, acquired the building, previously known as Laser House, in 1991.
The scheme, designed by architect BuckleyGrayYeoman, covers 76,000 sq ft, including 5,000 sq ft of office space dedicated to SMEs. The development is expected to accommodate workspace for more than 850 people.
The project will expand the existing building by 26,000 sq ft.
Work is expected to start in January 2019 with completion by Christmas 2020.
