Genr8 hires development manager from Canary Wharf Group

Genr8 Developments has boosted its project and development team with the appointment of Ellen Lockhart as senior development manager.

Lockhart previously worked for Grosvenor Property UK for five years and most recently, Canary Wharf Group. She will be instrumental in navigating the early development stages of the developer’s mixed-use scheme in Huyton Town Centre, Merseyside, which it is bringing forward in partnership with Kajima and Knowsley Council

Lockhart will also work on bringing forward future phases at Genr8’s Smithfield development in Stoke-on-Trent as the city moves to the next stage of its 10-year regeneration plan

The move comes shortly after Andrew Fairest joined the firm in March as project director, bringing almost 30 years’ experience of delivering major projects across the UK, having spent eight years at Muse.

Fairest has assumed a lead role in the £500m Newcastle Health & Innovation Neighbourhood, which is being delivered through Genr8’s joint venture with Kajima and Newcastle University.

Mike Smith, partner at Genr8, said: “Both are incredibly well respected in their fields and bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, and dynamism that will help us accelerate our ambitious growth plans and deliver transformational change to cities and towns in the region.”
