Analysis of recent data by the Department of Communities and Local Government show the impact of gentrification over the last 10 years, with some of the poorest people priced out of inner city areas.
The analysis, by Dr. Alasdair Rae, shows a major shift out of the centre of London by poor communities, which Rae attributed to housing costs.
As a result of the increase in gentrification, the boroughs of Hackney, Haringey, Newham and Tower Hamlets are no longer ranked among the 20 poorest areas in England.
