Kate Morgan has joined Gerald Eve as the firm’s first chief operating officer.
Morgan joins from Colliers, where she was promoted to UK COO in April 2018. Before that she led the business development unit in the rating team. Prior to joining Colliers, Morgan led on operational improvements at Bruntwood in Manchester.
Gerald Eve has seen revenues increase by almost 50% over the past five years, and its workforce grow to more than 600 people across nine offices in the UK.
Simon Prichard, senior partner at Gerald Eve, said: “We are welcoming Kate at a pivotal time for Gerald Eve as we continue to build our business in a rapidly changing real estate market.”
Morgan’s appointment is a sign that the firm intends to continue its expansion, Prichard said.
“Having seen sustained growth for several years, it is vital that we invest in our operational management from a position of strength,” he added.
Morgan will initially focus on building the operational foundations of the business, looking particularly at data and technology, embedding ESG, and equipping teams with the tools to enable continued growth.
Morgan said: “Gerald Eve’s rapid expansion and expertise in the real estate sector bring huge opportunities – but also a need to ensure we have the right operational shape to continue to build our business.
“It’s a time of real change within our sector, so we want to ensure that we are set up with the best operational structure to take advantage of the opportunities and continue delivering exactly what our clients need.”
