Gerald Eve hires Heathrow property boss

Gerald Eve has launched a new aviation team with the hire of former Heathrow Airport head of property John Arbuckle.

Arbuckle, who has joined as a partner, will advise clients from the aviation and related sectors on all aspects of real estate strategy.

He worked at Heathrow for nine years and was appointed its head of property in 2017.

Gerald Eve said his hire formed part of a wider investment programme to expand the firm’s capabilities, with transport and infrastructure among its “areas of strategic focus”.

John Arbuckle, partner and head of aviation at Gerald Eve, said: “This is a challenging yet exciting time for aviation, with the impacts of Covid-19 and sustainability targets creating opportunities to reshape property portfolios to meet future needs.”

Keith Norman, partner at Gerald Eve, said: “As the UK emerges from lockdown, transport and infrastructure not only has new challenges to overcome, but will be a central part of the recovery across all regions. John’s experience in the sector is second-to-none, and his arrival will enable us to both broaden and deepen the level of advice we are able to provide to clients.”
