Get Living hires Landsec’s head of property

Build-to-rent operator Get Living has hired Landsec head of property Ailish Christian-West as its new director of real estate.

It marks a significant change in sector focus for Christian-West, who is also the president of retail property organisation Revo.

She previously worked at Landsec for 12 years, latterly overseeing its £6bn portfolio of retail, leisure and London suburban properties and leading a team of more than 200 people.

Before that, Christian-West spent 10 years in fund management, including roles at La Salle Investment Management and Invista.

Christian-West will manage Get Living’s existing £2bn BTR portfolio, comprising 3,000 homes across three neighbourhoods, as well as their existing retail and public realm environments.

She will also oversee Get Living’s 5,000-home development pipeline – which will see the business more than double over the next five years – alongside director of neighbourhoods Ian Gibbs.

As part of Christian-West’s remit, she will also direct capital expenditure projects and the mobilisation of planned launches.

Christian-West reports directly to chief executive Rick de Blaby in her new role.

De Blaby said: “Given Ailish’s extensive investment management and operational expertise we are well placed to take our maturing assets into the next era of growth and accelerate our pipeline further.”
