Giant logistics hub planned for Leicestershire

Family trust the Drummond Estate and its partner Landchain have submitted a planning application for a £90m logistics hub in Leicestershire.

The 74-acre site close to junction 21 of the M1 is allocated in Blaby District Council’s adopted local plan for employment use. More than 1.1m sq ft of space is planned in buildings ranging from 150,695 sq ft to 495,000 sq ft. A decision on the application is due in the summer.

Ben Grinnall, founder of Landchain, said: “These proposals represent an exciting new phase in the growth of logistics facilities in the region. Logistics is a fast-growing and rapidly changing sector that helps underpin our economy. The Enderby Logistics Hub is an excellent opportunity to attract high quality businesses to the area and help consolidate the location as the heart of the industry.”
