GIC has appointed a chief technology officer for the first time.
The Singaporean sovereign wealth fund has appointed Wu Choy Peng, who will play “a crucial role in developing GIC’s technology vision, strategic direction and future growth in technology to strengthen organisational capabilities” and an “integrated oversight for technology and data analytics”.
The company said that “in a landscape that is increasingly uncertain and competitive” it “actively leverages technology to harness data, deepen insights and sharpen its edge”.
Peng was previously group chief information officer at Singaporean telecoms firm Singtel.
