Giraffe is believed to have spurned an approach from Gondola Holdings.
Now Giraffe is thought to be looking to raise funds to expand the business from 12 to about 30 restaurants.
Gondola, which owns PizzaExpress, ASK and Zizzi restaurants, has been looking at developing or buying a fourth chain for a while. It is looking at the potential of three “incubator” brands and is seeking new sites for one of these, a pizza delivery format called Lupa.
