Gladman gets green light for Yorkshire scheme

Gladman Developments has received detailed planning permission to build a £6.2m speculative office scheme in Catterick, North Yorkshire.

The Cheshire-based developer got the go-ahead from Richmondshire District Council to construct the scheme on 4.59 acres of land off Catterick Road on Colburn Business Park, Catterick.

The 56,670 sq ft development, to be known as Bailey Court and Battalion Court, will consist of a mix of office accommodation, ranging in size from suites of 2,250 sq ft to 10,070 sq ft.

Construction will start this summer, with the first buildings available for occupation in early 2007.

Gladman Developments was selected as Yorkshire Forward’s preferred development partner for the office scheme, which stands on land which used to be part of Catterick Garrison.

David Smith of Gladman Developments said: “This is good news for Catterick and the surrounding area, as the new office accommodation will create new jobs, accompanied by an economic boost to as new employers and employees spend money on local goods and services.”

Sanderson Weatherall’s Teesside has been appointed agent for the scheme.
