The scheme, created by Sheppard Robson, will feature a series of three-story arched terracotta colonnades, and it has improved thermal and acoustic performance, ventilation and daylighting.
Glenbrook has also committed to creating new public spaces which will enhance the streetscape, improve pedestrian connections along Whitworth Street West and continue the momentum that is seeing the revitalisation of this central area of the city.
Tony O’Brien, partner at Sheppard Robson, said: “By opening up the site, we are creating public spaces and pathways that enhance connections across this part of the city. The building’s facade references both the existing and historical context, while introducing a distinctly modern addition to the evolving skyline of Manchester.”
Daniel Roberts, development director at Glenbrook, said: “We believe this development and its exceptional location offer the opportunity to push the boundaries of city centre living, and we are hugely excited about the prospect of bringing such a prestigious building to the market.”
Subject to approval, Glenbrook plans to appoint a main contractor this year, with construction on site scheduled for early 2026.
