GLH has put the Thistle Kensington Gardens hotel, W2, up for sale, seeking bids in excess of £100m.
The hospitality group has instructed JLL to market the 175-bedroom west London hotel, which will be offered free of management.
The decision to sell comes as the company realigns its focus to its four-star brand, Amba, which it recently launched by converting Thistle hotels in Marble Arch, W1, Tower Bridge, SE1, Charing Cross, WC2, and Buckingham Palace Road, SW1.
The mid-market Thistle Kensington Gardens was not considered suitable for the boutique brand, and the proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into Amba.
GLH is the London-based hotel subsidiary of the Singapore-listed GuocoLeisure Group owned by Malaysian tycoon Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan.
There are 30 Thistle hotels in the UK and Malaysia.
