Kvaerner’s Govan shipyard in Glasgow could escape closure after the government included Kvaerner on a shortlist of companies to bid for a £200m MOD order.
The shipyard will run out of work in mid-May and Kvaerner is reviewing the future of the yard.
Kvaerner reported pretax losses of NKr1.35bn (£105m) against NKr1.51bn profits last year.
