Global Holdings submits plans for 1 Hanover Square

Investor Global Holdings Management Group has submitted plans for the redevelopment of 1 Hanover Square, W1, after acquiring the building from publishing giant Condé Nast early last year.

The proposals would involve the existing building’s partial demolition and extension to create an eight-storey building with terraces on the fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth floors. The retrofit would also increase the amount of retail and office floorspace in the building by 5,640 sq ft and 50,547 sq ft, respectively.

The plans propose retaining more than 90% of the building’s facades, the replacement of the seventh floor and the addition of a new eighth floor. More than 130,000 sq ft of office space would be provided across the first to eighth floors, with 6,415 sq ft of retail and/or restaurant accommodation on the ground floor.

Formerly known as Vogue House, the building was acquired by Global Holdings for £75m in January last year in a deal which saw Condé Nast move to the Adelphi building on John Adam Street, WC2.
