Gloucester planners passed a “minded to grant” resolution for Arrowcroft’s proposed £50m redevelopment of Blackfriars town centre site, Gloucester.
The 20,903 sq m (225,000 sq ft) scheme will provide 17,651 sq m (190,000 sq ft) of shopping space, including an anchor store for Marks & Spencer and 50 shops, 1,851 sq m (21,000 sq ft) of offices, town houses and an 800-space multi-storey car park.
The next stage is for the council to make a compulsory purchase order for part of the site. This would be followed by a public inquiry. Donaldsons is acting for Arrowcroft, and Hillier Parker for Gloucester City Council.
