Go-ahead for Belfast’s Bankmore Square scheme

Plans have been approved by Belfast City Council for One Bankmore Square, Northern Ireland’s largest new office scheme,

The £65m scheme, on the former Movie House cinema site on Dublin Road, will offer 250,000 sq ft of grade-A office space, 8,000 sq ft of retail, and potentially a new cinema.

Gary McCausland, chief executive of developer Richland Group, said: “The level of interest and positivity around the project locally and internationally has been very positive and to be named key development scheme and ‘pick of projects’ at MIPIM 2017 was a great honour.”

One Bankmore Square is near Belfast City Hall and the city’s new £250m transport hub. It will have space for 3,000 workers across 12 floors.

Savills and Lambert Smith Hampton are leasing the scheme.
