Preston city council has granted outline planning consent for a £80m mixed-use regeneration scheme on a former brickworks site.
The scheme, which is being developed by Cottam Hall Properties, is located on a 28-acre site and will comprise a 47,000 sq ft Tesco supermarket, 45,000 sq ft of offices, around 200 homes and restaurants set around a marina.
Supermarket chain Morrisons had objected to the inclusion of a Tesco within the plans, and local residents had also complained about parking provision for the office element, as reported by EGI.
