Cult London streetwear retailer Goodhood is set to relocate its store to a former Adidas Originals shop at the Truman Brewery, E1.
Goodhood has closed a deal for 3,133 sq ft at the store, on the ground floor at the entrance to the estate on Hanbury St, at £55 per sq ft.
The retailer will then expand into the remaining space, which totals around 8,000 sq ft, over the next year.
Goodhood was previously located at nearby Curtain Road for a decade, before closing the store earlier this month.
Oliver Serrant of Stance, which advised Goodhood on the deal, said: “Curtain Road has been home to Goodhood for 10 years, but their success saw them outgrow the store fairly quickly and Truman Brewery is the perfect new home for the brand.
“We love to see retailers showing that physical stores are still the cornerstone of their strategy. It’s a pleasure working with Jo and Kyle. Their commitment to curating incredible retail spaces is second to none and we’re all very excited to see what they have in store for Truman Brewery.”
James Doffman of Belcor, which acted for Truman Estates, said: “Goodhood are a true stalwart of the area, and they will be a great addition to the estate, which also includes the likes of David Beckham’s E-Guild Sports, Dream Factory and Wieden+Kennedy. We’re excited to watch Goodhood grow over the next year.”
Other tenants recently signing for space at the Truman Brewery include the Electric Theatre Collective, which took up 11,000 sq ft on the penthouse floor in December.
The news comes as the owners of the Truman Brewery launch a fresh consultation on plans for the site, which scales down the heights of the proposed developments.
