Goodman good to go in Aberdeen

Goodman has won consent for its City North development which will create a new business community at Dyce, in Aberdeen.

Plans include a campus-style development designed by Keppie and comprising 100,000 sq ft of new office space across three buildings. The new office buildings will range in size from 25,800 sq ft, 30,800 sq ft, and 45,600 sq ft.

For the past three months, demolition experts have been clearing the site, which included a large derelict multi-storey car park. This phase marks the final stage of the redevelopment of the 30-acre site, which was formerly BP’s North Sea operations centre. Construction is due to begin on site later this year.

Niall McGilp, regional development director for Goodman in Scotland, said: “It is the biggest development of its kind outside of the city centre and as such we’re confident that the quality of the accommodation at City North will be attractive to a broad range of potential customers.”

Working in conjunction with BP, Goodman’s regeneration project has since 2005 delivered 220,000 sq ft of high quality office space for BP’s new award winning North Sea Headquarters.

In addition, the site boasts two residential sites totalling almost 10 acres developed by Barratt East Scotland, accommodating 161 new houses. Once completed, the new development will benefit from links to the nearby
Aberdeen International Airport, Dyce Railway Station and the planned Aberdeen Western Peripheral Road.

Ryden and CBRE have been appointed joint letting agents.
