Google to expand in Dublin

Google-sign-THUMB.jpegGoogle is to expand in Ireland with a 51,000 sq ft Dublin office letting.

The tech giant is under offer at Ardstone Capital and Hardwicke’s Velasco building on a 10-year lease, and is understood to be paying around €55 (£46) per sq ft.

Works on the asset, which provides grade-A office space set across eight storeys, are scheduled to complete this month.

The Velasco building is in Dublin’s commercial quarter, on Grand Canal, close to offices occupied by Facebook, Accenture, Bord Gáis Energy and Matheson.

Google already occupies around 600,000 sq ft in the Irish capital for its EMEA headquarters. It operates from a cluster of six buildings along Barrow Street, in Dublin’s docklands, which house a variety of functions including sales and engineering.

JLL is the leasing agent on Velasco; CBRE acts for Google.
