Private Walsall-based property company Goold Estates has acquired one of Cannock’s best known schemes – Lakeside Plaza.
Goold paid vendor Pritchard Developments (Midlands) £1.95m for the 61,400 sq ft mixed-use, multi-let scheme, which sits on a five-acre site within the West Midlands’ town.
Existing tenants at the retail/warehouse, self-storage and office scheme, include Silver Blades Ice Rink, Bridgtown Bikes and a self-storage operator.
Dominic Goold, managing director of Goold Estates, said the firm intended to reposition the estate by investing in upgrading the units, as well as filling the voids within the scheme.
“We were attracted by its highly visible position adjacent to the M6 toll motorway and the A5. Anyone driving along the M6 toll can’t fail to notice it,” said Goold.
Goold Estates has also taken over the running of the self-storage unit at Lakeside Plaza, which will be rebranded www.chase-space.co.uk and will target businesses as well as domestic requirements for storage.
The firm currently owns over 450,000 sq ft of commercial and residential property.
