AXA IM Alts has signed Gordon Ramsay Restaurants for what will become the UK’s highest bar and restaurant offering, at the top of 22 Bishopsgate.
Gordon Ramsay Restaurants has taken a 20-year lease on levels 58M, 59, 60 and 61 at the skyscraper, 269m above ground. It sits directly above Horizon 22, which recently opened and is Europe’s highest free public viewing gallery.
The 24,361 sq ft space will host a Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay restaurant, an Asian-inspired venue influenced by Tokyo’s “jazz kissa” and Shanghai’s drinking dens, with an open-air rooftop terrace.
It will also include a Bread Street Kitchen restaurant, offering contemporary British cuisine.
Additionally, the skyscraper will feature a new 14-seat Chef’s Table concept born from the Gordon Ramsay Restaurant’s first establishment, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, and serve as the Gordon Ramsay Academy’s first central location.
Reservations for the restaurants will open from July this year.
Gordon Ramsay said: “This is more than just a new opening – it’s a significant milestone for our business. We’re not only launching the highest culinary experiences in London but also creating a vibrant culinary hub at the impressive 22 Bishopsgate in the heart of the city. I would like to thank all our partners, including Barclays, for their support and I cannot wait to share this unique dining experience with our guests.”
John O’Driscoll, global co-head of real estate at AXA IM Alts, said: “At 22 Bishopsgate we have always set out to ensure that the building not only offers best-in-class sustainable and smart workspace for our occupiers, but is also a destination in its own right that all Londoners and visitors to the UK capital can enjoy. The addition of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants to the 22 Bishopsgate community represents another key milestone in achieving that goal.”
O’Driscoll added: “Alongside the recent opening of our Horizon 22 viewing gallery, these new restaurants will also make a valuable contribution to the Corporation of London’s Destination City vision to broaden the appeal of this famous Square Mile to people of all walks of life and outside of traditional working hours.”
