Mike Gorman is to return to CBRE a year after departing the firm to head up Knight Frank’s Northern residential investment.
Gorman will rejoin the firm in September as senior director, responsible for leading the multifamily strategy and residential investment in the North of England.
He leaves his role as a partner, regional residential capital markets, in Knight Frank’s capital markets team based in Leeds, after joining last September.
Gorman previously headed up the Northern team at CBRE and worked there for almost five years as director of residential capital markets, after joining in April 2014. He has 18 years’ experience in the industry.
Peter Burns, managing director of UK development and residential capital markets, CBRE, said: “Mike Gorman is a familiar face to many of us. He’s a talented expert with a wealth of experience and we’re very pleased to welcome him back to CBRE in his new role at an exciting time for the sector.
“As the UK multifamily market rapidly expands and matures from a development market to one focused on investment grade standing stock and portfolios, there’s a growing demand for consultancy and transactional advisory services. This is certainly the case in the North of England, where multifamily investor activity is on the rise, with significant forward funding deals and direct site acquisitions in the last quarter.”
