Justice secretary Michael Gove will accuse those campaigning for the UK to remain in the European Union of treating people like mere children, as he responds to a Treasury report yesterday that warned of a £36bn drop in tax receipts in the event of a Brexit vote.
Gove will also attack the government over its failure to control immigration, saying that the Treasury report acknowledges that immigration will increase by hundreds of thousands year after year.
A Daily Telegraph poll shows the Remain campaign leading with 52% of the vote against 43% for the Leave campaign. A weekend Guardian/ICM telephone poll had Remain on 54% and Leave on 46%, while an online poll indicated a dead heat.
