The secretary of state for the environment is seeking to exit its 90,000 sq ft offices at 22 Kingsway, WC2, as part of government plans to streamline its £370bn public sector estate.
The department, through its property manager Mapeley, has instructed DTZ, Farebrother and Jones Lang LaSalle to sublet its space.
The space is expected to attract rents of as much as £50 per sq ft. Israeli insurer Harel and Clal Insurance owns 22 Kingsway.
