Graham Penny Auctions raised £6.2m – its highest revenue in a year – at its 26 May sale, held at Derby’s Pride Park stadium.
Some 62 of 94 commercial and residential lots offered sold, a 67% success rate.
The largest sale of the day was a former Methodist church and premises, located within a Derby city suburb. It made £358,000 off a guide of £160,000-plus.
A detached four-bedroom cottage in almost half an acre of land in Hilton, Derbyshire, made £309,000 off a £275,000 guide.
Auctioneer Grahm Penny said the auction was packed, with nearly 200 registered bidders. He added: “Some very strong prices were being paid, particularly for sought after locations. Several properties exceeded their reserve prices by up to 50%.”
