Grainger has secured planning consent for two build-to-rent schemes in Hampshire.
Some 2,550 homes will be built in Berewood in Waterlooville, while 3,850 will be delivered in Wellesley, Aldershot.
They form part of the housebuilder’s larger strategic land development projects.
Obtaining permission for private rental homes will accelerate the delivery on site.
Both build-to-rent phases are earmarked for funding via the Home and Communities Agency’s Build-to-Rent Fund, subject to final approvals.
Nick Jopling, executive director of property at Grainger, said: “These new build-to-rent developments will not only deliver much needed new homes in the local area, but support our desire to provide purpose-built, quality private rental accommodation, as well as accelerate the provision of amenities for the community as a whole.”
