Grainger sells in Hampshire

Grainger has sold the first phase of its Berewood housing scheme in Hampshire to Bloor Homes.

The £35m development has consent for 194 homes, some 77 of which will be affordable housing.

Bloor will start work on the 11.2-acre site in November with completion scheduled for spring 2013.

Grainger said that the sale was in line with its strategy for Berewood, which is to sell phases of consented land to housebuilders after first installing infrastructure, such as roads and utilities. This is the first phase of 13 at the Berewood development.

In total, the 168 acre Berewood scheme will see 2,550 homes, two schools, offices, shops, and two pubs built over a 10-to-15-year period.

It has been masterplanned by Savills, with phase one designed ADAM Architecture.
