Sebastian Balcombe has left Grainger to join Legal & General Homes as senior land and planning manager.
In the newly created role he will be responsible for investment into new major housing-led projects as well as acquisition and planning work across its strategic land portfolio, acquiring and securing planning for medium-term opportunities with the aim of creating new communities with a range of tenures.
Balcombe was previously senior land and planning manager at Grainger and before that held roles at Taylor Wimpey and Transport for London.
L&G has a pipeline of 80,000 homes to be delivered over the next five to 10 years for build-to-sell and build-to-rent as well as later living, student accommodation and affordable homes.
James Lidgate, chief executive of Legal & General Homes, said: “Sebastian will be an excellent addition to our housing team. We are invested in housing across the spectrum, and we believe this multi-tenure approach will not only continue to expand our housing capabilities, but speed up the delivery of new homes for the UK.”
