Grant Thornton could be the model for other professional services firms after offering staff a sabbatical or a dramatic pay cut.
The UK’s sixth largest accounting firm told staff they could volunteer for a sabbatical until June, and receive 30% of their salary, or take a 40% reduction in paid hours until the end of May.
Law firm Allen & Overy, meanwhile, has asked partners to inject capital into the business to shore up its balance sheet during the crisis.
