Green light for Bruntwood’s £31m Ev0 Building

Bruntwood has received the go-ahead for the delivery of the Ev0 Building at Didsbury Technology Park in south Manchester.

The plans were submitted late last year and feature 82,549 sq ft of workspace over six floors. The building will also feature a gym, café, customer lounge, cycle storage and event space, characteristic of Bruntwood’s approach to the provision of on-site customer amenity facilities.

Ev0 is expected to be a fully electric development, with up to 94% of its energy requirement generated through photovoltaics located on the building’s roof and car park.

Bruntwood claims the project to be the UK’s lowest-carbon new-build workspace, meeting LETI 2020 design targets for upfront carbon, RIBA 2025 targets for whole-life carbon and the UK Green Building Council’s Paris Proof operational energy use target. It is also targeting a NABERS 5.5-star rating.

Andrew Butterworth, commercial director at Bruntwood, said: “Ev0 will support businesses using the workspace to meet their own net zero goals and serve as a blueprint for future development.”

Works are targeted to start on site in autumn 2023 and complete in late 2024.

JLL and CBRE are the letting agents for the building.
