Green light for Canary Wharf’s second tallest tower

A 3m sq ft office and retail scheme at Riverside South, on Canary Wharf’s Docklands estate, is set to be the first development under the ownership of the Morgan Stanley-led consortium. Tower Hamlets development committee will grant planning permission, subject to the agreement of the mayor and the Government Office for London. The Richard Rogers-designed scheme comprises two office towers with up to 34 floors — the southern tower will be the second highest after One Canada Square. Shops and restaurants will line the riverfront, creating the longest length of retail/leisure facilities along the river in London. Canary Wharf will look for a prelet before beginning construction. DP9 advised Canary Wharf; Knight Frank and CBRE are agents.
