Plans for Dublin office tower The EXO have gained planning approval.
The 73m office tower will be Dublin’s tallest building when completed.
Stephen Tennant and Paul McCann of Grant Thornton, receivers for the tower, said that the 224,500 sq ft office at Point Village in Dublin’s Docklands was given the go-ahead following an application funded by Irish bad bank NAMA.
NAMA’s support for the plan is part of its commitment to help deliver new developments in Dublin’s Dockland’s strategic development zone.
The Docklands are one of the few locations in which buildings of this height are allowed under Dublin’s planning regulations.
Tennant said: “The approval is great news for the North Docklands and Dublin as a whole. The SDZ process introduced by Dublin City Council and An Bord Pleanála has enabled us to secure approval for THE EXO in just over six months.
“We now look forward to bringing these plans to life to meet the strong demand for office space in Dublin.”
