Green light for factory unit at Stoke industrial park

Stoke-on-Trent-Regeneration, a joint venture between St Modwen Properties and Stoke-on-Trent council, has won consent for a 131,300 sq ft manufacturing unit at the Trentham Lakes scheme in North Staffordshire.

The building is earmarked for an as yet unconfirmed European-based manufacturer, which is looking to set up a new factory in Stoke.

Mike Herbert, director of Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration and St Modwen’s regional director, declined to name the firm, but said: “The development will bring £15m of investment into the city and create up to 300 new jobs.”

The joint venture will receive confirmation of the deal from the potential tenant later this month. If the deal goes ahead, construction will start in the summer.

The 400-acre, mixed-use Stoke-on-Trent scheme has occupiers including Firmin Coates, Remploy, Pets At Home and Screwfix Direct.
