Two major regeneration schemes have been given the green light by Falkirk council.
Phase one of ING’s £175m redevelopment of Bo’ness Harbour has been granted outline and detailed planning permission, while Macdonald Estates secured detailed planning consent for the regeneration of Stenhousemuir town centre.
The first phase of Bo’ness Harbour scheme will see 200 homes, a hotel and 17,000 sq ft of leisure.
The completed scheme will comprise 450 apartments, 300 town houses, plus the hotel and leisure elements.
Subject to a section 75 agreement, the Scottish equivalent of a section 106, and Scottish office approval, work is expected to start early next year.
The regeneration of Stenhousemuir, a joint venture between Macdonald Estates and Falkirk Council, will see a new 40,000 sq ft Asda, additional retail units, a community hall, a library and upgrade to Crownest Park.
Niall McLean, development manager for Macdonald Estates said: “We are delighted to see our plans for Stenhousemuir Town Centre coming to fruition.
“In addition to securing the anchor tenant, we have substantially let the retail accommodation.”
Construction is due to start later this year and is anticipated that the project will be completed within 2 years.
