Caddick Developments has had plans approved for its industrial and logistics hub at Farington Park, situated in Leyland, Lancashire, with direct links to the M6, M65 and M61.
The first phase of the development will kick off with a 544,000 sq ft facility. It is expected to generate 600 jobs during construction and more than 1,000 jobs for the local area once operational.
The scheme also features landscaping and community improvement initiatives, including the delivery of a new cycleway forming part of the Leyland Loop. This will create a link between the nearby employment sites and residential communities across the River Lostock.
Cushman & Wakefield and Knight Frank were appointed as agents on the project.
Steve Widdowson, head of Caddick Developments in the North West, said: “The scale of new jobs in the area created by the scheme – both during construction and operation – will be a huge benefit to the local economy, while addressing the acute requirement for industrial and logistics space in the North West.
“This BREEAM Excellent project will return brownfield land to use, providing jobs and environmental improvements for the area.”
